MARICOPA, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office has arrested men who tried to abduct a truck driver at knifepoint in Maricopa.
According to the KCSO, the incident happened on Sunday when two Hispanic males attempt attempted to kidnap a truck driver at knifepoint and force her to drive them to Bakersfield. However, the driver was able to get into her vehicle and drove off. She later contacted KCSO to report the incident.
Both men were later arrested and identified as 20-year-old Moses Abeytia and 21-year-old Feliciano Ramirez, both from Santa Maria. They multiple charges including kidnapping. Abeytia also faces charges of attempted murder in Santa Maria.
Both were arrested.
