Five children have suffered traumatic injuries and four were left with minor injuries after a van crashed against a tree in Dana Point Wednesday, officials said.

The incident occurred at Dana Point Harbor Drive and Cove Road at approximately 3:42 p.m.

Orange County Fire Authority officials said the van was pulling a trailer, and all patients are between the ages of 11 to 12 years old.
