This tremor follows a magnitude 5.8 earthquake that struck about 50 miles north of Ridgecrest in the Lone Pine area, with aftershocks shaking the area between Fresno and Bakersfield, north of the Mojave Desert. The USGS reported that quake hit at 10:40 Wednesday morning. And just a few minutes after that a 3.6 and 3.1 hitting in the same area.

The quakes hit just about a week and a half away from the anniversary of the 7.1 and 6.4 earthquakes in Ridgecrest.
