A new high school may be coming to southeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A new high school may be coming to southeast Bakersfield.

Kern High School District is inviting the public to attend a community meeting on Thursday, April 4 to discuss a new comprehensive high school opening in the fall of 2022.

The school will be located at the northeast corner of East Panama Ln. and Cottonwood Rd. It is the first comprehensive high school to be built by KHSD since Mira Monte High School and Independence High School opened in 2008.

The meeting will be held at Valle Verde Elementary School at 400 Berkshire Road from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
