According to the Bakersfield Police Department Alicia Matta was crossing the street when a car hit her, ran away and left her lying on the pavement.

Matta is currently in Kern Medical in critical condition. 23ABC News was able to speak with the daughter who says all her mother's bones were broken during the hit and run.

"She's still in critical condition. The doctor said that they're still waiting on her to get stabilized. She also got operated this morning when she came in on her stomach and its currently still an open stomach and the reason why is because there is a lot of internal bleeding and she also has brain bleeding."

BPD said they know very little about the suspect. There was a witness and based on their description, they're looking for a light-colored SUV.

Anyone with information is urged to contact them.

The family is also offering $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest.
