BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Saturday community members gathered at Beach park in Bakersfield to help prevent suicide with a fundraiser walk.
The walk started at 7 a.m. and lasted until noon and all funds raised stayed local.
All members of the Save A Life Today (SALT) team have lost loved ones to suicide and want to prevent this tragedy from happening in any other family.
SALT distributes educational material at health fairs, has sponsored children who lost loved ones to suicide for grief camps, assist in paying for funerals of those who died by suicide and other local suicide prevention activities.
