SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Assemblymember Salas welcomed 7th graders from Corcoran's John Muir Middle School to the California State Capitol on Monday, March 25.

John Muir Middle school was accepted as one of the 38 communities in the U.S., Canada and Brazil to participate in SSEP’s Mission 13.

“Having these brilliant young student’s experiments go up into space with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronauts shows what our Valley students can achieve. I am very proud of them” said Assemblymember Salas. “Their pioneering spirit and dedication to science, research, and teamwork is what science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) needs. When we support and encourage students to pursue the sciences, we are preparing them a bright and successful future.”
