BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A Bakersfield anesthesiologist has been put on a five year probation and a 15-day suspension for creating false medical records and prescribing medication without an appropriate medical exam for several patients.

According to the Medical Board of California, Dr. Martha Madrid was charged with prescribing without an appropriate prior medical examination or indication, gross negligence, and repeated negligent acts.

Documents said Madrid "created false medical records with fraudulent intent and failure to maintain adequate and accurate medical records in the care and treatment of seven patients."

Madrid's 15-day suspension begins on December 29. Records show she will also have to complete several courses including an ethical course.

23ABC News reached out to Madrid and she had no comment.
