BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield College has canceled over a dozen events at the school as the coronavirus continues to spread in California.
Cindy Collier, director of BC's student health enrollment center, said the cancellations are only a precaution.
"We're really believing that we need to be proactive and not reactive, Collier said.
"The HEAL Symposium happening next week has been cancelled," along with a campus wide active shooter exercise, according to Collier.
These are a few of the 19 listed events cancelled by the school, which can be found on their website.
