BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — There are a handful of gyms, both chains and locally owned, that have already opened their doors this Friday morning.
Nearly all of them have been shut down for months, but now, with various precautions in place and being able to adhere to social distancing guidelines, they're ready to see members back pumping iron.
"Were doing a workout schedule so we have a start time and end time to each workout session at the end of that workout session we clear out the gym of all the members that are present and we do additional cleaning and then we start another workout session," said Rick Dennis, vice president at Body Xchange Health Clubs.
Of the gyms 23ABC talked to, managers said they'll do things like checking members temperatures, spacing equipment ad having members wipe down equipment before and after use.
