Bakersfield man arrested for allegedly stealing, selling tools from his job

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A Bakersfield man is behind bars for allegedly selling tools he stole from his job on social media sites, according to officials.

On April 25, KCSO's Rural Crime Investigation Unit investigated 39-year-old Edmundo Carranza after receiving information from the local oilfield company that he worked at. After detectives obtained a search warrant for Carranza's residence they found around $1,000 worth of the company's tool.

During the search detectives also discovered several social media posts depicting the stolen tools for sale.

Carranza was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for embezzlement.
