Local business, public safety, taxpayer, labor, and elected officials announced their opposition to Proposition 53 Thursday.
Prop 53 would require statewide voter approval before any revenue bonds can be issued or sold by the state for certain projects if the bond amount exceeds $2 billion.
Bakersfield City Councilmember Willie Rivera, Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Nick Ortiz, and other local officials were at the announcement.
Governor Brown has also expressed opposition to Prop 53.
Election day is November 8.
