On Sunday around 2:00 a.m. Bakersfiled Police officers tried to stop a man near E. California Ave and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 

Police said when officers made contact with him, he ran form officers and tried to get rid of a loaded firearm. 

Kelvin Allen, 21, was arrested for firearm and gang related charges.
