MCKITTRICK, Calif. — Student athletes at Belridge School will now be able to run on a newly renovated track and field.
On Friday, school officials hosted a special ribbon-cutting and dedication of the Aera Energy Track and Field.
Aera Energy donated nearly $50,000 to fund the project.
School officials say before the renovation, the track had become worn through weather and use with cracks and holes creating safety hazards for the children. The new track has been designed in a
way to eliminate any tripping hazards and be a smooth surface that the students can use year-round for the next seven to 10 years.
The renovations on the track and field took place during spring break which was just in time for the hundreds of students participating in the Annual Small School’s Track Meet.
