A Bakersfield mother is facing an uphill battle in her recovery following an accident on SR184 last month.
Now, there are plans in place for a blood drive in her honor.
That impact sent her smash into a power pole, sparking a fire, burning the vehicle and 30 percent of her body.
Due to the victim's burns being extensive, crews airlifted Price to Community Regional Medical Center's Burn unit in Fresno where she's already undergone 8 skin grafting surgeries.
Price is a gospel singer and pianist who suffered 3rd degree burns to her face, shoulders, arms and hands.
Family members told our Fresno affiliate, ABC30 that she hasn't been able to talk but in the past week she has found other ways to communicate.
Doctors say Price could be there for at least the next 5 to 8 months, requiring more surgery. A blood drive is being organized in her honor.
Price's parents are staying in Fresno temporarily as she continues to receive treatment.
Her husband and two children visit every few days.
The blood drive will be held from January 18th to the 23rd.
