BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that allegedly occurred Saturday morning.
According to BPD, a woman was acting as a Good Samaritan when she picked up a teenaged boy along Highway 99 near Interstate 5, after he crashed his vehicle in that area.
The woman told police that the boy sexually assaulted her when they arrived in Bakersfield.
According to BPD, officers arrested the boy near Valley Plaza Mall at about 11:34 a.m.
A California Highway Patrol officer located the crashed vehicle and determined it was stolen during a carjacking in Los Angeles Police Department Jurisdiction.
The minor was charged with sexual assault, robbery, carjacking, false imprisonment, kidnapping, aggravated assault, criminal threats and providing false information to police.
The woman was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition.
