BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department wants you to join its men and women in blue.
On Thursday, the department tweeted that police trainee applications are now open.
According to the city's job bulletin, the position details as a entry level, non-sworn position in the department. In the position you are assigned to the Basic Peace Officer Academy and must satisfactorily pass all of the requirements that lead to the possession of the Basic Peace Officer Standards and Training Certificate for appointment as a probationary Police Officer or be terminated from the trainee position.
The job salary starts at $3,925.65 to $4,772.04 per month and after Academy graduation the salary increases to $4,915.39 to $5,986.93 per month.
The filing deadline for trainee applications is June 13 at 1 p.m.
