UPDATE (May 13, 4:45a): Police said the victim was an adult woman.
When police arrived on scene they found her suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
She was taken to Kern Medical and listed in critical condition.
Police don't have any suspect information at this time.
They're asking anyone with information to call them at 327-7111.

The Bakersfield Police Department is on scene of a shooting at Potomac Avenue and Collins Way.
The call came in just before 1:00 a.m.
We have limited details, but BPD says a person has suffered major injuries. BPD also says they have no suspect information at this time.
