BPD searching for suspect responsible for auto theft, burglary in Northwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, — BPD is searching for a suspect in a burglary, auto theft and unauthorized use of credit cards investigation in Northwest Bakersfield.

Officials say on April 1 the female suspect went into the In Shape located on 5423 Calloway Drive and stole the keys to the victim’s vehicle.

According to BPD, the suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle, which contained the victim’s purse and credit cards. The female suspect, along with an additional male suspect used the credit cards at several other establishments.

The female suspect is described as a Hispanic woman, around 20 to 26 years of age, 5’5” to 5’7”, 130 to 150 pounds, brown hair, wearing a mint green, long sleeved, hooded Nike sweatshirt. She was last seen wearing black sweatpants, white shoes, and a black baseball cap with a light colored logo.

The vehicle that was stolen from the victim has since been recovered. The suspects were also seen driving a different vehicle when they used the victim’s credit cards. That vehicle is described as a late 1990’s to early 2000’s, dark blue or black, Cadillac Escalade with tinted windows and chrome wheels.
