Monday morning around 1:30, bullets were reportedly heard by neighbors who live near the Reel Cinema in Wofford Heights.

When an employee arrived to work in the afternoon, he found nine bullet holes, bullet fragments and glass shattered on the inside of the theater.

The sheriff’s department says that based on evidence, the damage to the movie theater was caused by a high-powered BB gun.

The Kern County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the case.

In the midst of this fear and frustration, the movie theater will remain opened to the public.

In a statement released by the sheriff’s department this afternoon, they believe the suspects are juveniles and are also responsible for starting a fire at a home Monday morning.

Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact the sheriff's department.
