California City adopts resolution supporting citizen's Second Amendment right to bear arms

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The City Council of California City adopted a resolution Tuesday night in support of Second Amendment rights.

According to the resolution, the "City Council strongly believes that the right of citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right that should be protected to the greatest degree possible."

Through the resolution, the council said it was committed to support all provisions of the Constitution of the United States, including the right of people to keep and bear arms.

The city council declared the city of California City a "Second Amendment Constitutional City."

The council directed the City Manager to forward a copy of the resolution to the City's Assemblyman and the Governor of California.
