California State University, LA "segregated" housing triggers debate

California State University,  Los Angeles announced housing that some said allowed for the segregation of African American students, KABC-TV reported.

The housing, called the Halisi Scholars Black Living-Learning Center, can hold 24 of the nearly 1,000 students on campus. The housing has caused national debate with civil rights activists.

CSULA referred to the dorm ad a “themed living community”.
