A construction project that will shut down one of the busiest off-ramps in Bakersfield is scheduled to begin at midnight Tuesday.
According to Caltrans, the 24th Street off-ramp from the northbound 99 will be shut down for 55 days.
Caltrans crews tell 23ABC that a third turn lane will be added to the exit. Caltrans will also be working on an auxiliary lane.
Caltrans suggests taking California Avenue or the Buck Owens off-ramp as an alternate route.
The northbound on-ramp from Buck Owens Boulevard is also currently closed in the area.
