The community gathered on Monday night for a vigil in honor of the 11 victims of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting.
The ceremony took place at the Chabad Jewish Community Center in Southwest Bakersfield at 7 p.m.
The Mayor of Bakersfield, Karen Goh, along with other community leaders shared a few words for everyone as they grieved and prayed together.
"It is so important that we as a community unite and denounce this hatred. We must denounce these acts and tonight our community came together. We remembered the 11 and we pledge to move ahead with kindness and love," said Goh.
