On Thursday, January 14, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m., two Bakersfield City employees were operating a golf cart style vehicle in the parking lot of the City of Bakersfield Corporation Yard, located at 4101 Truxtun Ave.
The driver of the vehicle said he swerved to avoid an animal, which caused the passenger to fall out.
When the passenger fell, he struck his head.
That evening, he was taken to a local area hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, January 16, 2016 at approximately 9:30 a.m., he succumbed to his injuries.
The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Section is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
