Both lanes of Highway 178 in the Canyon were blocked due to a collision near Democrat Road Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two cars collided just before 9 a.m.
An Acura Legend with three passengers was driving eastbound on Highway 178 while a second car, a Ford Fusion, was traveling westbound.
The Acura Legend was attempting to pass a vehicle by driving to the left of the double yellow lines on a blind curve. The car collided with the Ford Fusion causing major front-end damage to the vehicles.
The driver of the Acura was a 22-year-old with a 16-year-old and 18-year-old passenger.
Only minor and moderate injuries were reported.
