BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County announced it is canceling all non-essential special events of 250 persons or greater at all County-owned parks and facilities, at least through the end of March.

"My office, in connection with Kern County Public Health, continues to work with CDPH and CDC to monitor an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by COVID-19," said Ryan J. Alsop. "Immediate risk of COVID-19 in Kern County still remains low. Continue to take measures, now, to prevent the spread of COVID-19."
