New court documents are providing more details in the case of a Bakersfield man charged with the murder of his wife, who had been reported as a missing person last week.

The Kern County Superior Court documents obtained by 23ABC suggest that Gonzalo Garibay, 44, "became involved in an argument with his wife of 22 years over infidelity".

The documents suggest that in the July 16 fight with his wife, Rosa Garibay, 41, Gonzalo Garibay "punched and strangled (Rosa) until she died" and then "disposed of her body in the mountains off of Highway 33" in the rural, mountainous area between Maricopa and Ojai.

The court records said Gonzalo Garibay admitted to the crime and directed police officers to her body on July 21.
