BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: The man stuck in the Kern River was hoisted out of the water with the assistance of Kern County Fire Department crews.

Search and Rescue crews are responding to reports of a man pinned between rocks in the Kern River along Highway 178, about halfway between Bakersfield and Lake Isabella, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Officials received reports of the man being stuck in the river at about 4:11 p.m.
