Delano man arrested on weapons and drug charges

A suspect in Delano has been arrested on weapons and drugs charges.

Delano deputies received a report of 32-year-old Luis Enrique Ortiz, a convicted felon, threatening to kill his significant other while in possession of a firearm.

On Monday, Delano and Wasco deputies found Ortiz at his home on Gromer Avenue, detained him, and obtained a search warrant for his residence.

During the search, deputies found a stolen forearm, ammunition, money, drug paraphernalia, and approximately 80 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

 

During the investigation, deputies learned young children resided in the home. Ortiz was booked for criminal threats, spousal battery, felon in possession of a firearm/ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm, child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance for sales.
