Dog dies, 30 people without home after fire

Matt Redstone with the Kern County Fire Department said that several people lost their home today after a fire ripped through an apartment complex.

At about 10 a.m. Friday, a fire broke out at the Rosamond Garden Apartments in Rosamond.

The complex, located at 3400 15th Street W, which has 8 units, lost 4 units in the fire.

There were a total of 30 people who are now left homeless and a dog died as a result of the fire.

The Red Cross is helping out those who lost their belongings in the fire.

Arson unites arrived on scene later in the morning and are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
