State elections officials are urging those with past criminal convictions to check the status of their voter registration.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced the development of a new online tool called "Restore Your Vote" which allows Californians who have been convicted of a felony to check whether or not they are eligible to vote post-release.
Officials say Californians who are still subject to post-release supervision may be eligible to register.
