A Southwest Bakersfield family is asking for the community's help after finding their home burglarized.

Maribeth is a mother of two, with her youngest, Audrey Belle, being a special baby.

"My daughter was born with congenital heart defects," she said.

Over the weekend, the baby had an episode where started gasping for air - requiring emergency medical treatment.

"They transferred her down to children's hospital where we were for about a week," said Maribel.

On Thursday, they returned home from Los Angeles to find their home ransacked.

Maribeth said thieves took thousands of dollars worth of items, including a laptop and new camera - storing priceless memories of her kids pictures.

They also took off with her baby's medical equipment.

"Her pulse ox machine is missing. That machine monitors her heart rate and her oxygen levels," said the concerned mother.

She filed a  report, but is still concerned the brazen thieves will strike again.

"I already have a medically fragile child and to me, that was more stress on my plate."

Police said while they are investigating, this is considered a "low priority" crime since there is no crime in process and no immediate threat to life.

The family said, if you see a black laptop or Nikon D5300 camera with the baby's face on it, to please report it to police.
