The family of a Tehachapi teenager killed in a DUI hit and run accident formally filed civil charges against the alleged driver and passenger of the vehicle, as well as the driver's employer.

Evelyn Denise Natividad, Leslie Balderrama's mother, filed charges against the suspected driver Isaac Macias, passenger Ibrahim Gomes and the owner of the vehicle Exelon Generation Company and First Solar Inc.

Previous stories:

According to a CHP report both the driver and passenger admitted to drinking the night of the accident. The driver, 20 year-old Isaac Macias, swerved while driving on State Route 202, striking the 14 year-old pedestrian.

The passenger of the vehicle, Ibrahim Gomes, exited the vehicle to check on Balderrama and later told officers, "She didn't look like she got that messed up." Both Macias and Gomes fled the scene without calling authorities.

Balderrama was struck by the truck's side mirror so hard, it fell off. The mirror led authorities to Macias.

The district attorney's office has yet to file any criminal charges, stating they are still working with CHP to work out the details of charges to bring forth.

Matt Clark, the family's attorney, said he has full faith that the DA's office will aggressively pursue charges against Macias and Gomes.
