The Cesar E. Chavez founded FIELD Institute received $1.3 million from the State Board of Education to help in developing their programs.
On Nov. 8 the California State Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the million dollar grant to support FIELD Institute Career Technical Education.
The grant will help facilitate entrepreneurship for students who began with FIELD's English as a Second Language classes and graduated from FIELD's Escuela Popular Instituto Campesino (EPIC) Cesar Chavez High School.
Various higher education institutions around the state of California will work with the initiative including CSUB, Univertisyt of La Verne, Bakersfield College, College of the Siskiyous, Palo Verde College and Merced College.
