Friday evening the Bakersfield City School District Board of Education will welcome five inductees into their BCSD Hall of Fame.
To be inducted into the BCSD Hall of Fame the recipient has to be a former student who is notable in their community for their professional accomplishments or have distinguished themselves by their service to the community.
The five members are:
Adam Alvidrez of the Chevron Corporation, for his work with the Project Lead the Way at BCSD School.
Chief Lyle Martin, former BCSD student and current Bakersfield Police chief.
Bill McDougle, form BCSD student, retired BCSD administrator and former BCSD board member.
Dr. Daniel Sheehy, former BCSD student, now director and curator emeritus, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and former director, Smithsonian Center for Folk Life and Cultural Heritage.
Colonel Michelle Spencer, former BCSD Student and currently a colonel in the United States Army.
The Hall of Fame induction banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bakersfield Country Club. Tickets to the event range from $60 per person to $480 per table of eight.
