Flooded roadway prevent some Tehachapi residents from getting home

Posted

Some residents in Tehachapi were forced to sleep at local hotels after a flooded roadway prevented them from getting home.

Friday's storm brought much rainfall to the Pine Canyon and Sand Canyon communities.

Residents tell 23ABC that flood water reached near five feet, making it impossible for vehicles to cross the roadway.

Saturday morning residents returned home to find the roadway still flooded, but passable.

Duke Speiser said that he and his neighbors will spend much of the day clearing rocks out of the roadway and cleaning up the mess that the storm left behind.
