KERN COUNTY, Calif. — Former Chief Deputy Justin Fleeman confirmed Thursday morning that he was officially terminated from the Kern County Sheriff's Office last Wednesday.

"I was terminated for running against Donny Youngblood and I will be filing a lawsuit with my attorney during the coming months," said Fleeman.

He also told 23ABC News that this comes as no surprise and that he can't wait until this is all over. Fleeman said he was "ready for this to unfold in court."

The Kern County Counsel confirmed that Fleeman's employment ended May 29.
