Former Kern County Supervisor Don Maben died Tuesday morning after a battle with cancer.

Maben, who was 75-years-old when he passed, was elected to the Kern County Board of Supervisors in 2002, and was re-elected to a second term in 2006. He represented the Second District which included parts of Bakersfield and the Tehachapi area. 

Maben served on the Board for seven years after retiring from a 22-year career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Maben leaves behind his wife Billie, four grown daughters and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services have not yet been announced.
