In December of 1977, almost 200 MPH winds blew through parts of Kern County causing devastation on many levels.
Three people were killed from the storm, trees and power lines were ripped up and Bakersfield was coated in a large layer of dust.
Now, 40 years later, locals can still vividly remember the storm.
