34-year-old Nhia Vang has been booked in Fresno County Jail with nine felony charges after leading officials on a pursuit Sunday evening.
Around 6:15 p.m. a Fresno County Sheriff's deputy saw two men riding a quad (ATV) without helmets. The two individuals on the ATV led the deputy on a six minute pursuit until they were stuck in a canal bank.
The deputy held Nhia Vang and passenger Kou Lee at gunpoint until they hit the front of the patrol truck and ran in opposite directions.
Vang was caught by a police dog and taken into custody. Lee was found in a homeowners yard and was taken into custody
Officers found marijuana plants, guns, and a stolen quad in Vang’s home. He is also the suspect in another ATV theft.
The nine charges against Vang include vehicle theft, receiving stolen property, assault with a deadly weapon, felon possessing a firearm, evading a peace officer and probation violation.
