The city of Delano is still in shock over a week after news of a sex scandal involving a school district employee having a relationship with an underage student came to light.

28 year old Bobby Perigo was arrested for having sexual relations with a minor and police reports say he confessed to having the relationship.

Police reports also show that Juan Brito, another district employee, was arrested for knowing about the relationship but not reporting on it.

Robert Gonzales, a friend of the Perigo family, said that he is saddened to see the family going through this situation.

"This is a tragedy and I just hope that everybody will support them in getting help for this young man so he can get back on track."

As for the city of Delano moving on from this sex scandal, Gonzales says it is possible.

"There's forgiveness in everything, we just have to do that but we have to get out and help these kids."
