Girl Scouts donate comfort items to KCSO for children during incidents

Posted

A group of Girls Scouts wanting to make a difference in the lives of children donated blankets and stuffed animals to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department to be handed out to kids during calls.

Representatives from the Girl Scouts of Central California South met with Sheriff Donny Youngblood on Norris Road Thursday to donate the items.

The toys and blankets will be handed to children during difficult incidents like domestic violence calls or traffic accidents.

The donation is part of the “Comfort for Kids” project, which was created by a Girl Scot to earn her Gold Award.
