BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — GraduateNursingEDU has named the CSUB of Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Family Nurse Practitioner program as among the best in the nation.

In order to receive this recognition, a program must:

  • Be nationally accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing;
  • Have excellent first-time passing rates on the national certification exams and;
  • Have experience and resources that support student career paths.

In edition, the program is evaluated on its funding and research grants, scholarships and student satisfaction.

CSUB's MSN-FNP was initially introduced in 1996 and graduated 114 FNPs between 1996 and 2010.

“Our MSN-FNP graduates should be justifiably proud to have graduated from a nationally recognized quality program and be confident they have acquired the skill and knowledge necessary to provide excellent professional health care to their patients in their professional career as nurse practitioners,” Dr. Heidi He, Director, Graduate Program, Department of Nursing said. “Current and future students can expect to receive the same high-quality education allowing them to excel in their education and chosen professional career. This national recognition is a product of the exceptional dedication and hard work of our students, our faculty and our staff.”
