Gusty winds, blowing dust in San Joaquin Valley could prompt health concerns

Posted

The San Joaquin Valley may be experiencing gusty winds and blowing dust Dec. 15th through the evening of Dec. 16th, according to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.

After days of poor air quality due to atmospheric conditions, gusty winds over the next couple of evenings could pose health concerns valley wide, according to the Air Pollution Control District.

Officials with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District said winds could be especially strong in the northern region and west of Highway 99, but air conditions could improve by Sunday, Dec. 17th.

Aggravated lung disease, triggered asthma attacks, bronchitis, and an increased risk in respiratory infections are all some of the health issues that could arise from exposure to particulate pollution according to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
