Health officials confirm three new human cases of West Nile Virus in Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Friday, health officials confirmed three new human cases of West Nile in Kern County bringing the total number to 15.

According to WestNile.ca.gov , the state's website that tracks the West Nile Virus, the three new human cases were reported this week.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention website says "West Nile virus (WNV) is the leading cause of mosquito-borne disease in the continental United States."
