On November 1, 2017 Adventist Health Bakersfield announced that it is the only hospital in Kern County to be recognized as "One of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery" according to Healthgrades. 

In a report, Healthgrades determined that those treated in one of the 100 best hospitals for prostate surgery between 2014 and 2016 had a 59.4% lower risk of experiencing a complication in their hospital than if they had been treated in a hospital that was not one of America's 100 best.
