BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Meadows Field Airport terminal was filled with supporters with banners and posters to honor these veterans.
Honor Flight 41 featured 100 veterans who defended our country during the Vietnam War. They all got the chance to visit several memorials across the country that were built in their honor.
One returning veteran was shocked and amazed by the huge turnout to welcome him back.
"Overwhelmed. I didn't expect that many. But, it's what I should have expected from Bakersfield I guess. Right? What a wonderful group of people we have here. Yeah, it was amazing. It pumps you up, as you might say."
