Hundreds of motorcyclist are expected to gather at the annual Armed Forces Support Foundation's annual 9/11 ride, Friday night.
The riders will take off from the Harley Davidson's Bakersfield shop at 5 p.m. and kick stands will go up 6:30 p.m. where they will then ride to Shafter's Minter Field Airport.
Last year, there were more than 400 riders who attended the event. This year, organizers are hoping even more will show up to not only commemorate 9/11, but pay tribute to the men and woman who continue to serve our country.
The organization is hoping riders will donate $10 each, which will go towards helping support services for veterans year round.
