BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Fire Department has scheduled a controlled burn for Tuesday near the area off HWY 65 and Merced Avenue.

According to the department, the purpose of the controlled burn is to give your local firefighters actual firefighting experience as they prepare for wildfire season. Please be advised that Smoke from the controlled burn will be visible throughout the day.

KCFD says the burn will be on Tuesday from from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
